About our Logo & the Artist

The Tribal Journeys 2020 logo was created by Noel Brown. Noel is a member of the Snuneymuxw First Nation, and comes from the Brown/Lewis family; his mother is Donna Brown and father is Jerry Brown.

 

Noel was taught by many including; Richard Baker, Matthew Baker, Chris and Doran Lewis and Craig Manson. His inspiration is James Christopher Lewis. Noel has been carving since 1995.

 

Noel is renowned for his Coast Salish Art and clean designs. His art can be found in galleries and private collections around the world. His carvings are on public display at the Nanaimo BC Museum, as well as at the BC Ferries Departure Bay terminal, cruise ship terminal, and other public areas.
